Axalta Ruby-sponsored driver William Byron has picked up his second win at Martinsville Speedway. It took him 13 starts to get his first victory at the Virginia-based track.
Byron won the Cook Out 400 on Sunday. This is his third win of the season.
Now, he has 13 career wins. His previous wins came this season during the Daytona 500 and their lone race at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas.
He also won the 2022 Blue Emu Maximum Pain Relief 400 on April 9th, 2022, in Martinsville, Virginia.
Byron and his Hendrick Motorsports teammates finished 1-2-3. Former Champion Kyle Larson finished second.
Former Champion Chase Elliott finished third. Rounding out the Top 5 were Bubba Wallace, who finished fourth, and 2023 Champion Ryan Blaney, who finished fifth.
Byron had a race-high 88 laps led. The first 3 finishers completed 238 laps.
The HendrickCars.com sponsored driver Larson picked up his sixth Top 5 at the facility. Elliott, who was driving the UniFirst Ruby entry, picked up his seventh Top 5 at the track.
Wallace, who was driving the McDonald’s entry, had just his second Top 5 at Martinsville. Blaney, driving the Advanced Auto Parts entry, had his 10th Top 5.
