The Cleveland Cavaliers remain undefeated. They defeated the woeful Milwaukee Bucks 116-114 on Monday night at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio.
With the win, the Cavaliers are 8-0 under first-year head coach Kenny Atkinson. The Bucks fell to 1-6 overall.
The Bucks are on a six-game losing streak, as they have not won since a season-opening 124-109 win over the Philadelphia 76ers. Two of these games have come in back-to-back games to the Cavaliers by a combined three points.
Darius Garland led the Cavaliers with 39 points. He also had two rebounds and eight assists.
Four of the five Cavaliers starters were in double digits. Only Isaac Okoro failed to secure 10 points, as he had five points in 26 minutes.
Jarrett Allen and Donovan Mitchell had 14 points each. Evan Mobley added 17 points.
The Cavaliers had 27 bench points. Sam Merrill led the bench with 12 points in 27 minutes.
The Bucks were led by Damian Lillard, who had 36 points. Lillard also had two rebounds and seven assists.
Three of their starts combined for 70 points. Lillard had the aforementioned 36 points.
Bobby Portis had 21 points and Brook Lopez had 13. Gary Trent Jr. and Taurean Prince failed to score 10 points, as they had seven points combined.
The Bucks had 37 bench points. A.J. Green led the bench with 21 points.
