Stewart Haas Racing is competing in their final races this weekend as an organization. Their final race weekend is at Phoenix Raceway as an Xfinity Series and Cup Series team.

We reported earlier this year that the team is shutting down. Phoenix is the final race of the 2024 NASCAR season.

Current Cup Series driver Noah Gragson is honoring Tony Stewart in his final race with the team.

“One last helmet for one last race here at Stuerer Haas at Phoenix this weekend,” Gragson said in a video posted to social media. “I wanted to do a throwback to Tony. Without Tony and Greg Zipadelli, driving over at Stewart Haas wouldn’t be possible, and wanted to do a thank you helmet to Tony.

“So this is a mix between his old IndyCar helmet from back in the day and he got more of his NASCAR new school stuff with the gold-flaked flames. On the back, we have Tony’s signature. I always do a Las Vegas sign and then we got the 14 on there to remember Tony as well as the thank you smoke on the top.”

Stewart Haas Racing was founded in 2002 by Stewart, a NASCAR legend, and Gene Haas. Stewart said in a story that we posted this week that he does not like the current landscape of the sport with the charter program.

The team currently consists of Gragson, Josh Berry, Chase Briscoe, and Ryan Preece in the Cup Series. Cole Custer and Riley Herbst compete in the Xfinity Series.

Stewart Haas Racing has won three Championships. The team won the 2011 and 2014 Cup Series Championship.

In 2023, the team won the Xfinity Series Championship with Custer, who is in the Championship 4 for another chance this weekend.

“Tony means a lot to myself but he means a lot to everybody at this company and to be able to run this helmet in the last race for Stewart Haas; it’s been an unbelievable season,” Gragson said. “Everything coming together to make new memories all year long and to be able to represent Tony; without him, this wouldn’t be possible and this is a little thank you for him.”
