Flyers’ Konecny, Tippett score in shootout for 2-1 win over Lightning

The Philadelphia Flyers defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday night. The Flyers won 2-1 over the Lightning in a shootout at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida.

The Flyers improved to 5-8-1 on the season. The Lightning fell to 7-6-1.

In the last three meetings, the Flyers have defeated the Lightning twice. They also won 6-2 over the Lightning on February 27th.

The loss came in a 7-0 shutout to the Lightning on Saturday, March 9th.

The Flyers scored two goals in the shootout. Travis Konecny beat Lightning goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy.

Owen Tippett also beat Vasilevskiy.

Gage Goncalves and Victor Hedman failed to get a goal past Flyers goalie Ivan Fedotov.

Fedotov was the No. 1 star of the game with his 22 saves. Vasilevskiy was the No. 2 star with 30 saves.

Nikita Kucherov was the third star of the game with his one goal and +1 rating.

Kucherov scored his 11th goal of the game in the first period. Tippett scored his third goal of the season in the third period.
