The No. 2 Auburn Tigers Men’s Basketball team defeated the Missouri Tigers on Saturday. The No. 2 ranked team won 84-68 during the Holiday Bleacher Game at Neville Arena in Auburn, Alabama.
With the win, the ranked Auburn team improved to 13-1 overall. They are now 1-0 in Southeastern Conference play.
The unranked Tigers fell to 11-3 overall. They are now 0-1 in SEC play.
Johni Broome led the ranked Tigers with 24 points. He also had seven rebounds, two assists, one steal, and four blocks.
This was his best game of the season since November. He had a season-high 30 points in a win over the North Alabama Lions on November 18th.
Broome was one of three starters, who scored in double figures. Chad Baker-Mazara had 13 and Denver Jones added 10.
The bench had 29 points. Chaney Johnson led the reserves with 13 points.
Tamar Bates led the unranked Tigers starters with eight points. He also had three rebounds.
No starter surpassed 10 points.
Bates had scored in double digits the last two games. He had not scored less than 10 points since he had two points against the Jacksonville State Gamecocks on December 17th.
These Tigers had 47 bench points. Marques Warrick led the bench with 19 points.
