Penn State Nittany Lions star linebacker Abdul Carter has entered the 2025 NFL Draft on Friday morning. This news came hours after he played in his final college football game.
Carter played in the College Football Playoff Semifinal on Thursday night. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish defeated the Nittany Lions in the Capital One Orange Bowl.
He has hired super agent Drew Rosenhaus and his agency to represent him moving forward. Carter is expected to be one of the top prospects in the upcoming NFL Draft in April.
Despite having an AC Joint sprain in his shoulder, Carter had five total tackles in the loss to the Fighting Irish. He also had one sack and two tackles for a loss.
Carter also had one pass deflection.
The Philadelphia native appeared in 42 games for the Nittany Lions in the last three years. Carter had 172 tackles during his tenure, including 41 tackles for a loss. He also had 23 sacks.
Carter had one interception, two forced fumbles, and four pass deflections.
This past season, Carter had a career-high 12 sacks.
He is the latest stud No. 11 linebacker for the Nittany Lions to go pro. This legacy began with LaVar Arrington.
Then, Micah Parsons wore the number before becoming a stud for the Dallas Cowboys the past several seasons.
