The Washington Commanders defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday Night Football. The Commanders won 23-20 over the Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.
With the win, the Commanders improved to 13-5. They also advanced in the playoffs to face the top-seed Detroit Lions next weekend.
This was the Commanders’ first playoff win since 2005 when they also defeated the Buccaneers.

The Buccaneers’ season came to an end with the loss. They finished with a 10-8 record overall.
Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels went 24 of 35 for 268 yards. He had two touchdown passes.
Daniels also had 13 carries for 36 yards. Dyami Brown and Terry McLaurin led the Commanders in receiving yards.
Brown had five receptions for 89 yards and a touchdown. McLaurin had seven receptions for 89 yards and a touchdown, as well.
Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield went 15 of 18 for 185 yards. He had two touchdown passes.
Bucky Irving had 17 carries for 77 yards. Mike Evans had seven receptions for 92 yards and one touchdown.
The Commanders outscored the Buccaneers 13-10 in the second half. Daniels hit McLaurin for a five-yard touchdown reception.
Zane Gonzalez also made two field goals. He first made a 22-yard field goal. Then, he made the game-winning 37-yard field goal in a doink in as time expired.

Buccaneers’ Mayfield hit Irving for a four-yard touchdown reception. Chase McLaughlin also made a 32-yard field goal.
The score was 10-10 at halftime. Daniels hit Brown for a 10-yard touchdown reception. Gonzalez also made a 52-yard field goal.
Mayfield hit Evans for a one-yard touchdown reception. McLaughlin also made a 50-yard field goal.
