Former Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers has declared for the 2025 NFL Draft. According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel’s tweet on X, he is concerned the third-best quarterback in the draft from Scouts Inc.
Ewers was in a tough situation. If he came back to college, he likely would have not been the Longhorns starter next year.
He would have had to transfer to a new school. And with schools throwing around millions for a quarterback in the NIL lottery, he would have received that — or more.
See, the Longhorns have young phenom Arch Manning waiting in the wings. He is expected to go into the camp next year as their projected starting quarterback.
Manning played some this past season as the backup to Ewers.
Now, in the draft, he will go after former Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders and former Miami (Florida) Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward, who may go No. 1 and No. 2 in the 2025 NFL Draft. The Tennessee Titans and the Cleveland Browns, who hold the top two picks, are likely to draft quarterbacks.
