Golfer Woo Lee wins the Houston Open

Golfer Min Woo Lee has won the Texas Children’s Houston Open on Sunday. He won the event at the Memorial Park Municipal Golf Course in Houston, Texas.

He is the second straight non-American to win this event. Woo Lee won the event by one stroke with a 20-under-par 260.

Woo Lee took home $1.71 million for the win. The purse for the event was $9.5 million.

He held off Scottie Scheffler and Gary Woodland for the win.

In 2024, German golfer Stephan Jäger won the event. He also won by one stroke. He won with a 12-under-par 268.

Unlike Woo Lee, Jäger had to hold off five other competitors. He held off Thomas Detry, Tony Finau, Taylor Moore, Scheffler, and Alejandro Tosti.

The last American to win this event was Finau, who won it in 2022.

Woo Lee is the first Austrialian to win this event since 2014. That’s when Matt Jones won in a playoff over Matt Kuchar.

Jones won with a 15-under-par 273.
