Sage Steele shares she is engaged

Former ESPN SportsCenter host Sage Steele has shared that she is engaged. She shared the photos on Thursday, April 24th.

She is now engaged to Dave Barbuto. He proposed to her on the sand. The image may have been taken recently on a vacation.

The 52-year-old departed ESPN in 2023. In 2024, she was working for Donald Trump’s Presidential campaign, as she worked for the Women for Trump organization.

After leaving SportsCenter, the mother of three began a podcast on the Bill Mahar Network, Club Random Studios.

She was previously married to Jonathan Bailey. The couple got married in 1999 before divorcing in 2019.

Steele began her broadcasting career at WSBT-TV in South Bend, Indiana after completing her studies at Indiana University. She then moved to WISH-TV in Indianapolis, Indiana.

She also worked at WFTS TV in Tampa, Florida. She was a Fox Sports Florida reporter, as well. In 2001, she began her career at Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic in Maryland.

In 2007, she began her career at ESPN. On March 16th, 2007, she hosted her first 6 pm EST SportsCenter.

Fourteen years later, she was suspended by ESPN on October 5, 2021, due to comments she made on the Jay Cutler podcast regarding ESPN’s COVID 19 vaccine mandate.

In 2022, she filed a lawsuit against ESPN claiming that the company ‘retaliated against her following her suspension.” In August 2023, the parties settled the lawsuit, at which time, she agreed to leave the company.
