Do: Show up Early

This is one of the best things you can do as a golfer. That being said, so many people don’t do it. Make sure you show up around half an hour before tee-off. The main reason for this is because it is rude if you don’t and you may find that you end up distracting other people too. By arriving early, you can make sure that you have plenty of time to stretch out, get loose, and even hit a few range balls. You should ideally be hitting some putts and some chips, because if you don’t then you may find that you end up not getting the result you want out of your performance.

Don’t: Ignore Cart Path Rules

If you are new to the game of golf then you may think that golf carts are the best thing in the world. Even though they are great, you do have to check with the golf shop before you drive over the course. Depending on the season, or the condition, you may only be allowed to drive on the designated path.

Do: Warm Up

If you want to make yourself look like an amateur, then the best way for you to do this would be for you to warm up with a range of balls on the putting green. Use your own balls and don’t use more than three. It is also a good idea to make sure that your balls are marked so you can avoid confusion later on.

Don’t: Wear Your Normal Clothes

When golfing, it’s respectful to arrive in golfing gear. After all, golf is a classy sport and you do want to look the part. If you show up wearing just about anything then this will make you stand out and this is the last thing you want when you’re trying to look like a pro. Remember, you can buy golf shirts online for a very affordable price, so this isn’t something that you should overlook.

Do: Be Quiet when Others are Hitting

This is such an important tip. You have to be quiet when someone is hitting the ball. When you are standing over a ball, something simple like a twig snapping can throw your swing. You need to stay off the phone when people are hitting you and let them concentrate. Things like this help you to show your respect to others and it also indicates that you are a good player overall.

Don’t: Stand Behind Someone

Standing behind someone when they are on the green is such bad etiquette. It’s distracting to have someone in the line of sight, or standing behind you when putting. If that person was to move then this would make things even more distracting. Stay out of the way, and be respectful of other people.
