The San Francisco 49ers and Brandon Aiyuk have stopped their back-and-forth. The sides have reached a multi-year agreement.

Aiyuk has agreed to a four-year extension with the 49ers. He will be paid $120 million in the extension.

There was speculation during training camp that several teams were interested in making a trade, including the New England Patriots and the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers were reportedly one call away on a deal to acquire Aiyuk.

But the 49ers and GM John Lynch refused to play ball on a deal.

Both of Lynch’s top receivers, Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel, have been mentioned in trade talks in recent years. However, both men remained with the team.

Now, with this new deal, Aiyuk is one of the highest-paid wide receivers in the NFL. He is the fifth highest-paid wide receiver, tied with Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill. Hill also has a four-year, $120 million deal.

Only four receivers have better deals. Minnesota Vikings star wide receiver Justin Jefferson leads the pack with a $35 million average.

Jefferson signed a four-year, $140 million deal with the Vikings this off-season.

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb is now the second in the pack. He recently signed a four-year, $136 million deal.

Lamb will have an average salary of $34 million.

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown and Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown are third and fourth respectively. All four players signed massive deals this off-season.

Brown has an average salary of $32 million. St. Brown has an average salary of $30.002 million.

Aiyuk — who helped the 49ers to the Super Bowl last season — has appeared in 62 games in his career. He has made 60 starts.

He has had 269 receptions for 3,931 yards. He has also had 25 touchdown receptions.

In 2023, Aiyuk had 75 receptions for a career-high 1,345 yards and seven touchdowns.
