They finally have their new head football coach. After being rumored for a while, Penn State will name New England Patriots Offensive Coordinator Bill O’Brien head coach.

He will be the successor to Joe Paterno and Tom Bradley at State College. Penn State will make the announcement at a press conference on Saturday.

O’Brien will continue his role with the Patriots throughout the playoffs. In his first year, he has turned Rob Gronkowski into a rising star, while taking advantage of mismatches to Wes Welker, Gronkowski, and Aaron Hernandez.

O’Brien is coming into a situation that needs a lot of rebuilding. He has to gain the trust of the entire community in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky scandal.
