Thomas ‘Rush’ Propst, the Colquitt County High School football coach in Moultrie, Georgia, has been suspended for the second time. This time, he is suspended with pay pending the investigation by the school.
He was placed on administrative leave at 9 am Tuesday, pending the internal investigation. The 61-year-old Ohatchee, Alabama native has been the school’s head coach since the 2008 season.
His coaching staff and its players have been informed of the situation before the school announced it. Superintendent Doug Howell said he does not know how long the investigation will take.

Since taking over at the school, the team has gone 119-35 with two state championships. He was previously suspended in 2015 for head-butting a player.
Propst won the two GHSA Class 6 A Championships in 2014 and 2015. He also won the 2015 National Championship at the school.
Before taking over the job in Georgia, he was the Hoover Buccaneers’ head football coach from 1999 through 2007. He guided the team to five AHSAA Class 6A Champions in 2000, 2002 through 2005.

He also served as head coach at Ashville High School in Alabama from 1989 through 1993. He then was named Eufaula High School head coach in Alabama from 1994 through 1996. He was the Alba High School head coach in Alabama in 1997.
He also served one season as the Alma Bryant High School head coach in 1998. He has a combined 299-92 record as a head coach.
