The Utah Utes defeated the No. 4 Arizona Wildcats 81-66 on Thursday night. The game was played at the Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
With the win, the Utes improved to 6-2 overall. Utah has won their last two game after suffering a loss to the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
This is Utah’s first win over a ranked team this season. It is also their third game where they scored 80 or more points.

The Utes had a season-high 95 points against the St. Thomas (Minnesota) Tommies. They also scored 89 points against LIU Brooklyn.
The Wildcats suffered their first loss of the season. The majority of the games that Arizona has played this season have been blowouts, except this time they were on the other end of the blowout.
Only one of their wins was close. That was an 81-79 win over the Creighton Bluejays on November 23rd.
Branden Carlson led the Utes with 22 points. He also had five rebounds, one assist, and two blocks.
Carlson had his best game in almost a month. He scored a season-high 26 points against Idaho State on November 14th.
Four of the Utes scored in double figures. Overall, the starters accounted for 62 points.

The bench had 19 points. Lazar Stefanovic had eight points off the bench.
Oumar Ballo also had 22 points for the Wildcats. He also had seven rebounds and three blocks.
Ballo has scored 52 points in his last two games.
The Wildcats had 59 points from the starters. Two of the starters accounted for 42 points.
The bench had just even points. Henri Veesaar had four points.
