The Indianapolis Colts have officially hired Shane Steichen as their head coach. This is his first head coaching opportunity.
The young head coach comes to the Colts from the Philadelphia Eagles. He spent the last two seasons as the Eagles offensive coordinator.
Before the Super Bowl, it was reported that Steichen would be their head coach.

He helped guide the Eagles to 35 points on Sunday in their loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs won Super Bowl LVII with a 38-35 win.
Steichen replaces former head coach Jeff Saturday, who served as interim head coach for the final weeks of the season. Saturday replaced Frank Reich when he was fired in November by the team.
This is the second time that the Colts have hired an Eagles offensive coordinator following their Super Bowl appearance. The Colts hired Reich after following their win over the New England Patriots at the conclusion of the 2017 season.
The Colts are hoping that Steichen can revive their struggling offense. They had the 30th-worst attack at 17 points per game.
Indianapolis scored 289 points on the season. They had just three games, where they scored 30 or more points.
The team will have to get a quarterback in the off-season. Whether it is through free agency or through April’s draft, a quarterback should be their top priority this offseason.
The team had lackluster performances from their 2022 quarterbacks. Matt Ryan went 4-7-1 as a starter. He also went 309 of 461 for 3,057 yards with 14 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.

Sam Ehlinger and Nick Foles were a combined 0-5. Ehlinger was 0-3 and Foles went 0-2.
Ehlinger went 64 of 101 for 573 yards. He had three touchdown passes and three interceptions.
Foles went 25 of 42 for 224 yards. He had four interceptions.
Steichen comes from a team that went 14-3 in the regular season. His offensive attack averaged 28.1 points per game, which was the third-best in the league.
The Eagles had 477 points on the season.
Jalen Hurts, who finished second in the NFL MVP voting, went 14-1 as a starter. He went 306 of 460 for 3,701 yards. He also threw 22 touchdown passes and six interceptions.
Gardner Minshew, his backup, went 0-2 when Hurts could not play due to an injury. He went 44 of 76 for 663 yards. He had three touchdown passes and six interceptions.
