Wide receiver Chris Godwin is a key figure for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Both on the field and in the community.

But for the second time in his career with the Buccaneers, he has suffered a devastating injury. Godwin was injured on Monday Night Football against the Baltimore Ravens at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.

The Philadelphia native will likely be lost for the rest of the season. Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles may have some information at his press conference.

If not, Bowles will update the media on his condition in the days ahead. Bowles said that Godwin likely has a dislocated ankle and that “it doesn’t look good.”

The 28-year-old was rolled up on late in the fourth quarter. Godwin could not get to his feet.

The loss to the Ravens was a tough one, as Mike Evans left due to a hamstring injury. And Godwin went down with a more serious injury.

Godwin had seven receptions for 65 yards in the game. On the season, before this devastating injury, he had 50 receptions for 576 yards and five touchdowns.

On December 19th, 2021, Godwin suffered a torn ACL in the Buccaneers Week 15 loss to the New Orleans Saints. He missed the rest of that season.

Now, with Godwin lost for the season, Baker Mayfield and the rest of the offense will need other players to step up.
