Jake Paul got what he wanted. But he did not knock out the Boxing Hall of Famer Mike Tyson on Friday night at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

This was a free marquee event on Netflix, which caused server issues due to the amount of people watching the event. Paul and Tyson were the main event of the seven-fight card.

Paul won by unanimous decision. One judge gave Paul a 80-72 win. The other two judges gave Paul a 79-73 win.

“I’m inspired by him, and we wouldn’t be here today without him,” Paul said after the fight. “This man is an icon, and it’s just an honor to be able to fight him. And he’s obviously the toughest, baddest man on the planet, so it was really tough, like I expected it to be.

”He’s exactly what I thought, one of the greatest to ever do it. He’s an icon, he’s a legend, so yeah. But this night’s not about me, man.”

The Baddest Man on the Planet was at a huge disadvantage. He was 58 years old and beginning in the third round, his legs began to fail him.

It was noticeable. Even Roy Jones Jr. noticed it and said, “He did not look good at all.”

Paul improved to 11-1 with the win. The 27-year-old picked up his third win of the year.

He also defeated Mike Perry and Ryan Bourland this year.

Paul and Tyson were scheduled to take place in July. However, due to a health issue, the fight was pushed back to November.

Tyson, 58, took the brunt of the punches. Paul landed 78. The boxing legend connected on just 18 punches.

He put up a good effort for his age.

“I didn’t prove nothing to anybody, only to myself,” Tyson said. “I’m not one of those guys that look to please the world. I’m just happy with what I can do.”
