Their game on Saturday will feature two interim head coaches after their head coaches were fired on Monday. Earlier today, the Florida Atlantic University Owls fired head coach Tom Herman.

Chad Lunsford was named interim head coach of the Owls for their final two games. At press time, no interim head coach has been named for the 49ers in their last two games.

The 64-year-old Poggi was 6-16 in parts of the last two seasons. Herman actually had the same record with the Owls before his dismissal.

Poggi —who had never been a head coach at the college level before being hired by Charlotte — had three wins at the school each season. Last season, that also included nine losses.

This season, he also had seven losses before his departure.
