Philadelphia, PA — The slumping Philadelphia Wings should have beaten up the woeful Albany FireWolves. However, they were not able to do that.
The FireWolves put up a good fight. On Saturday night at the Wells Fargo Center, they won 12-10 over the Wings.

This is just the FireWolves’ fourth win of the season. They are now 4-9.

They have now defeated the Wings in two of the past three weekends.
The Wings fell to 5-7 overall. Philadelphia has dropped five straight games after starting the season with a 5-2 mark.
The FireWolves also defeated the Wings 11-6 on February 22nd at MVP Arena. In their two-game win streak over the Wings, Albany has outscored Philadelphia 23-16 in the games.
The Wings have not won a game since January 20th. That’s when they won 14-13 on Martin Luther King Jr. Day over the Vancouver Warriors, also at the Wells Fargo Center.
Outside of the two wins against the Wings, the FireWolves also defeated the Toronto Rock and the Colorado Mammoth. They defeated the Mammoth on January 18th in a 13-10 win.
They also won 15-4 over the Rock on December 7th.
Alex Simmons led the FireWolves with four goals. He also had three assists and seven points overall. He also had 11 shots on goal.
Kyle Jackson scored three goals. He also had two assists and five points.
Travis Longboat, Nick Chaykowsky, Ethan Walker, Joe Nardella, and Sam Firth scored one goal each. Walker had two assists. Nardella had one assist, and Firth had two assists.
Dyson Williams had four assists. Mike Byrne had one assist, and Tye Kurtz had five assists.
FireWolves goaltender Doug Jamieson received the win. He allowed 10 goals and had 37 saves.
The FireWolves shut down the Wings’ key players. It wasn’t until the fourth quarter that Joe Resetarits, Mitch Jones, and Blaze Riorden scored. And they stopped 2024 No. 1 overall pick Brennan O’Neill, who did not score.
Newly acquired Mitch de Snoo and Sam LeClair led the Wings with two goals apiece. Riorden, Resetarits, Phil Caputo, Jones, Chris Corbeil, and Mitch McCannell also scored one goal apiece.

Resetarits had five assists, while Jones had four. O’Neill had four assists.
Riorden, Caputo, Tyler Burton, and newly acquired Shane Simpson had one assist apiece.
Wings goaltender Nick Damude received the loss. He allowed 10 goals, as well, and made 48 saves.
