He was in Houston, Texas at the time of his death. Lacy was facing a grand jury on serious charges.

The grand jury was supposed to hear evidence in his case on Monday morning.

According to WBRZ, Lacy was facing the grand jury, which if convicted, could have resulted in serious jail time.

The prosecutor in Louisiana sat that Lacy was driving a vehicle that caused a head on collision. The December 2024 accident resulted in the death of 78 year old Herman Hall.

The State Police allege that the former football player was speeding and crossed the center line in a no passing zone. The other drivers on the road reportedly swerved out of the way; however, one of them hit Hall.

Instead of going back to help, the prosecutors allege that Lacy left the scene following the accident. Lacy was facing a negligent homicide charge.

Plus, Lacy was accused of hit-and-run and reckless operation.

Lacy began his college football career with the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns. He then transferred to the LSU Tigers, where he played the final few seasons of his career.
