Union has three separate goal scorers in 3-0 win over Atlanta United

Chester, Pa. — After just one point in their last three games (0-1-2), the Philadelphia Union picked up a win during Easter weekend. They also got three points for the win.

The Union defeated Atlanta United 3-0 on Saturday night.

This was the Union’s fifth win of the year. In terms of wins, they are just one win behind Charlotte FC and FC Cincinnati, who both have six wins through nine games.

The Union improved to 5-1-3 on the season. With 16 points, they are currently in fifth place in the Eastern Conference.

They are three points behind Charlotte FC and FC Cincinnati, who have 19 points. Both Inter Miami CF and the Columbus Crew have 18 points.

Atlanta United, on the other hand, is one of the worst teams in the Eastern Conference. Through nine games, they are 2-3-4. The team has 11 points.

The Atlanta, Georgia-based team is currently 12th in the 15-team Eastern Conference. They’re tied with D.C. United, which also has 11 points and an identical 2-3-4 record.

Only Toronto FC and CF Montréal have worse records. Toronto FC has a 1-4-4 record and seven points. CF Montréal has a 0-3-6 record and just three points.

According to the game stats, the Union scored three of their goals on their four shots on target. They had 10 shots overall.

Atlanta United had just three shots on target. The team had 12 shots overall.

The Ronny Deila-led United team held possession for 71% of the time. The Bradley Carnall-led Union team had possession for just 29%.

The Union had three yellow cards. They also had the lone red card in the game.

Jakob Glesnes picked up a yellow card in the 19th minute. Jovan Lukic received a yellow card in the 45th minute.

Lukic picked up a second yellow card that resulted in a red card in the 56th minute. Danley Jean Jacques also received a yellow card in the 57th minute.

Atlanta United had just one yellow card. Emmanuel Latte Lath received a yellow card in the 68th minute.

Homegrown Union player Quinn Sullivan scored in the 27th minute. Then, after halftime, Jean Jacques scored in the 50th minute.

This was Jean Jacques’s first goal with the Union after joining the team in 2024. Then, in the 84th minute, Tai Baribo scored.

Baribo, who came into the contest in the 74th minute, is leading Major League Soccer with seven goals.
