The Los Angeles Dodgers are going to win the Manny Machado sweepstakes. The star shortstop will be dealt to the Dodgers on Wednesday, according to sources.
Machado will appear in the Major League Baseball All-Star game as a member of the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday night at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. Then, on Wednesday, the team will be completed between the two teams.

This blockbuster deal gives the Dodgers, who were last season’s runner-up in the World Series, another weapon on offense. In addition, it fills the void that was previously filled when Corey Seager went down with a season-ending injury.
The Orioles were reportedly looking over the medical records of potential players involved in the deal. At this time, it is not clear if the Orioles will be receiving any Major League players or just top-level prospects in return for their pending free agent.
Machado will be a free agent at the end of the season unless the Dodgers can strike a deal before he is able to reach the open market in November. According to reports, he was also coveted by the Philadelphia Phillies and the Milwaukee Brewers.
Seager had season-ending Tommy John surgery on May 5th. He may not return until late 2019 or the 2020 season at the earliest.
He had a .267 batting average with two home runs and 13 RBIs in 26 games.
