Cowboys QB Dak Prescott out for season; surgery on Wednesday

According to Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, Dak Prescott will have surgery on Wednesday on his hamstring injury. The surgery will cost him the rest of the season.

He was injured in the Cowboys loss to the Atlanta Falcons on November 3rd.

Now, with Prescott officially done for the season, the Cowboys are moving forward with Cooper Rush and Trey Lance. Yes, the former top first round pick by the San Francisco 49ers, who have been a bust this far.

Several years ago, the Cowboys acquired Lance in a trade with the 49ers.

Rush is now 5-3 as a starter in the NFL. He started on Sunday before the team was blown out 34-6 to their arch rivals, the Philadelphia Eagles.

It was the Eagles first win in Arlington, Texas since 2017.

Prescott went 18 of 24 for 133 yards before leaving the Falcons game. He had one touchdown pass.

After replacing Prescott against the Falcons, Rush had 115 yards and a touchdown.

However, in the blowout loss to the Eagles, Rush had just 45 passing yards.

On the season, Prescott was 3-5 as a starter. He went 185 of 286 for 1,978 yards.

Prescott had 11 touchdown passes and eight interceptions.
