Alabama takes over No. 1 ranking with win in over Georgia

The Alabama Crimson Tide may have a first-year head coach in Kalen DeBeor. But one thing is for sure, they know about the No. 1 ranking.

For the latest time, the Crimson Tide are now the No. 1 ranked in the country. They took the No. 1 ranking on Sunday in the Associated Press poll.

This comes on the heels of the Crimson Tide coming back to defeat the Georgia Bulldogs. The Kirby Smart team came into the battle as the No. 2 team against the Crimson Tide, who was ranked No. 4 in the meeting.

The Crimson Tide led 30-7 at halftime. The Bulldogs had a huge second half and they look a lead late in the game.

Georgia led 34-33 with 2:42 left in the game.

On the following play, the Crimson Tide responded. Jalen Milroe hit Ryan Williams for a 75-yard touchdown reception.

Alabama also converted a two-point conversion when Milroe hit Germie Bernard to complete the play. This put the Crimson Tide up 41-34. And that was the final score.

The historic program received 40 of the 63 first place votes. They took over the No. 1 spot from the Texas Longhorns.

Steve Sarkisian’s team is now the No. 2 team in the country. He guided his team to a 35-13 win over the Mississippi State Bulldogs on Saturday.
