According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, Notre Dame Fighting Irish women’s basketball star Olivia Miles has turned down the WNBA. She was projected to be the No. 2 overall pick.
Had she entered the draft, Miles was expected to go behind UCONN Huskies star Paige Bueckers, who is expected to go No. 1 overall. Currently, the Dallas Wings has the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming draft.

The WNBA Draft will be held on April 14th, 2025, at The Shed at Hudson Yards in Manhattan, New York. The Draft will be broadcasted on ESPN.

Now, with Miles returning to college — at least right now — the Seattle Storm will have to go in another direction to find their next player. The Storm hold the pick after a previous trade with the Los Angeles Sparks.
Instead of turning pro, Miles has entered the NCAA’s transfer portal. She will be the most coveted player in the portal.
The 22-year-old has one year of college eligibility left.
The Summit, New Jersey native had been a part of the Fighting Irish’s team since 2021. She is a two-time second-team All American in 2023 and 2025.
Miles was the second-leading scorer on the Fighting Irish behind fellow New Jersey native Hannah Hidalgo, who averaged 23.8 points per game.
The junior averaged 15.4 points per game in 34 starts. She averaged 33 minutes per contest.

Miles averaged 5.6 rebounds, 5.7 assists, 0.23 blocks, and 1.38 steals per game.
The Fighting Irish’s season came to an end on March 29th in the NCAA Tournament. They lost 71-62 to the No. 2 TCU Horned Frogs in Birmingham, Alabama.
